Well, today started with a bang! I should start out with a little background info. My husband's mother moved to Hawaii and the kids missed her dearly. Since it is incredibly costly just to fly there, we agreed that we would give up all our extra goodies this year to try to make it there at some point- for the kids, that means trips to the toy store/movies etc, for us it means giving up our summer concerts - our one big luxury.
I had been doing some research online (do I do anything else??) and came across the fact that musicians are supporting the green movement with green summer tours! It just so happens that Dave Matthews, a particular fav of mine, is one of the bands involved with this movement (and have been since 2005) and will have an ecoVillage at their concerts educating others on how to go green (they will also use bio fuel in their tour buses, use biodegradable catering products, only sell organic products at their stands, and recycle all the bottles sold during the concerts and more!).
A non-profit, by the name of Reverb is behind the movement, so I went to their site to read more...and found a page where they were selecting people to volunteer at the ecoVillage at the concert in Camden. I wrote to Reverb, and my husband and I WERE SELECTED!!! Not only that, but in exchange for volunteering we receive free tickets to the DMB set and free t-shirts to boot!!
Now it is just a matter of finding babysitting....:)
