The Great Sunflower Project

Did you know that bees are responsible for every 3rd bite of food?

The kids and I have volunteered to participate in the Great Sunflower Project held by San Francisco State University to help hunt for bees! They sent us sunflower seeds, and in return, once we have flowers (in about 6 weeks) we record data for them regarding how many bees visit the flowers in 30 minutes, the type of bees (they provide pics and a handout), the temp outside, and that's it!
