ROAD TRIP!

We went on a road trip to visit friends of ours in Maryland, and I simply have to mention the zoo we took them to...The Plumpton Park Zoo. Think the Turtleback Zoo or the Popcorn Zoo, but better! We saw a tiger, bear, giraffe, gibbon monkeys, horses, camels, an alligator, fox, snakes, and much more! All the animals have been rescued from various situations and are well cared for. The employees there were friendly, the atmosphere was quaint and rustic with trails that led out to an open shady space filled with picnic tables and play equipment, and the kids had a BLAST! http://www.plumptonparkzoo.org/

There was no fancy gift shop, but the kids were able to bring home souvenirs that they thought were waaay cooler than a stuffed animal or a plastic container filled with plastic animals:)
I have noticed, since starting this venture to make greenKidsPLAY! a reality, is how much we as a family, have a newfound awe and respect for our environment, and it is so refreshing to watch our kids' curiosity and interest lead them into learning about the world around them.
